Oh boy, I’m barely clinging on to this Year Of Music
thing! Almost a week late on another playlist, not many write-ups finished in
the past few weeks, and I finally just realized I haven’t listened to a single
fucking Ramones record! NOT ONE! What an oversight. I literally should be shot.
Here I am trying to fill an entire year of all kinds of
music… new music, old music, and music that fucking MATTERS! And I forgot The
Ramones! UGH! Well, I’m fixing that on the eighth, which is the late Johnny Ramone's birthday.
Plus, I’ve only listened to ONE album from The Police…
and that was back in January!
Lots of classic rock crammed into Rocktober, picking up some
discographies where we left off… Led Zeppelin, Rush, Stones, AC/DC and
other stuff. We’ll celebrate John Lennon’s birthday with two massive
Beatles releases on the ninth and also listen to some more new "classics" this month. Then there is all the new crap.
With the exception of Sleigh Bells and Best Coast, this
looks like one of the strongest playlists of the year! Those two are really gonna
need to step up and deliver a complete and total pile of shit if they want to wrestle
the WORST ALBUM OF 2013 title away from MGMT and the Flaming Lips… currently
tied for the honor.
I didn't start adding new stuff until the seventh cause I
was late and we’re sticking to the new rules… two releases a day with weekends
off. Maybe I’ll fucking write something up this week… if you’re lucky.
