Happy Birthday America!

I sure love living in America, or 'Merica which is popular with all the hicks now, it's definitely the best country in the world! Warts and all.

You'd be surprised how patriotic I am. I can't make it threw the anthem at a ball game without crying, or getting choked up a little. Sometimes to fight off such rising emotion due to my undying love of country, I have to employ tricks I've used during sex to stop from cumming. I usually think of a bunch of nuns putting a dozen puppies in a pillow case, whacking them with sticks and throwing them in the river... kills an orgasm and converts patriotic tears to a creepy kind of ambivalence. I don't think I'm using ambivalence correctly, but isn't that what America's all about, lately? Dumbassery. God bless us... everyone.

Speaking of dumbassery, you may have noticed I haven't posted a July Playlist. I decided at the end of June to shitcan July and come back strong with August and then finish up the rest of the year without missing a beat. Quite frankly, it's just too fucking hot and taking May off messed with my mojo and I still have like 20 or 30 days I still need to write up.

I know I started 2013 - The Year Of Music as a way to make myself listen to a shitload of new and old music. To embrace the classics I've tossed off, and rake through the muck of new shit to find the stuff worth my time. And to dump on a lot of crap I can't stand. I think I've listened to something like 360 albums this year. Not bad.

So, I pledge allegiance to the flag of 2013 - The Year Of Music and promise to fill in all the days I didn't do a write up for the music I heard... or as many as I can during the month of July.

I am a Patriot. I love my country. I hate that my nation is divided in so many ways and pray that one day we'll all find a common ground to move the United States Of America forward... together. God bless every man and woman who has died to defend my freedom and to those risking their lives everyday. I believe it was Lisa Simpson who said, "The cost of freedom is eternal vigilance." Right on, Lisa!

I love this song.
