December Playlist!

Do you remember the 90's? I do. I sure did love "rocking" out to some great tunes with my asshole friends and then trying to get girls to let me take their clothes off.

Change of pace!

My music playlists have usually consisted of a new album and a "classic" album, but I've decided to switch it up. I'm sick of hating on new shit, so I ain't gonna bother anymore.

I'm accepting the fact that I'm an old man, and this is what I like! 1990 was pretty fucking awesome and here's a list of the best shit from 25 years ago!

If I had to put together a Top 10 from 1990, I would have a tough time whittling thirty records down. In 2015, there are like two records I kind of liked... I think.

So, I took a look at CMJ's (I used to work for those assholes.) Top 25 of 1990 and it's ALL RIGHT with me, so I'm gonna listen to that and I cherry picked some of the other great releases of the year that didn't make the cut.

This is one of the best monthly playlists I've compiled since I started doing this and it's also the first time that some albums repeat.

ENJOY!!!!

November Playlist!!!

I took this picture the day the Mets won the pennant.
Finally! A complete playlist for November! I haven't listened to the Violent Femmes before on one of my playlists. Can you believe that?

Thanksgiving is comprised of two bands that I love with all my heart and remind me of "home." No matter where I am, they'll take me there.

We'll close out the month with Darkness and Light. A new album from Danzig and an album from Pope Francis?! Yeah, it's da real Pope and not a couple of dickheads from L.A. or something. It is right to give thanks and praise, indeed!

There Will Be No September Playlist...

Flashlightmenship.

OK! With football season looming, the Mets making a playoff run and just a general end of summer malaise, I have decided NOT to do a September playlist.

However, I will bounce back strong and round out the rest of the year with three playlists for October and the rest.

Until then, LET GO METS! LETS GO BUFF-A-LO! And your favorite teams can go pee up a rope for all I care.

Good day.

June Playlist!

I look great from the back.

The whole month of May I was planning on doing the June Playlist early. I kept emailing myself suggestions, so that when it came time to put together the list, it would be a breeze. And here we are on June 2nd and I'm just finalizing it. As I was putting the list together I listened to the new one from The Darkness... it's kind of a turd.

At any rate, here's June! Same as always, one new album and one "classic" album a day. This month finds the youngest album I'm passing off as a classic, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds released in 2011.

There are also a lot of broads this month, Florence And The Machine, Heart, Blondie, Janis Joplin, Melody Gardot, and Imogen Heap... it just kind of worked out that way.

New stuff is mainly freshly released albums, with a few records from last year that I wanna "catch up" on. (Broken Bells, Hold Steady, Imogen Heap, Mac DeMarco)

Oh! Since doing the Year Of Music in 2013 and this year, I have listened to over 700 albums! And not one of them was from Joy Division! What a crime! So, I threw Unknown Pleasures at the end of the month.

Enjoy!
